Jolie Holliday and Sonny Burgess
a True Fort Worth Connection

Jolie and Sonny Burgess are a genuine Ft. Worth country music connection. The talented, loving couple share their passion for music, life, charity, and each other. Jolie and Sonny met through Cook Children’s Health Care System in the Child Life Zone Music Therapy department where Sonny is the Director of Clinical Programming and Jolie volunteers. They worked together several years before finally making their connection permanent in July of 2017. This wonderful couple share remarkably similar backgrounds in growing up; both musically inclined from an early age along with natural athleticism and outgoing personalities. The spark to capture a crowd and entertain hit each of them early in life, and both had the skill to make that spark grow.

Sonny started his entertainment career at church and school in Cleburne, TX. He worked Jr. High School shows and on to High School dances. Sonny exhibited talent in both music and baseball. Initially it looked like baseball would be his future, leading to roles in high school, college teams, and ultimately to AA ball with the Dodgers organization. But ultimately his first love of music won out. Sonny toured the southwest country music scene with shows in Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado. This lead to song writing and eventually recording in Nashville, performances at the Grand Old Opry, winning CMA artist award and ultimately resulting in 4 albums released. Sonny is a Texas Country Music Hall of Famer. From the twinkle in his eye to his firm handshake, it is easy to see that Sonny Burgess is a true traditional country artist with a heart as big as Texas.

Inspired by her mother, Jolie similarly began at a young age in Dallas, TX entertaining family. Then came county fairs and festivals, small town opries and various shows. She also exhibited a talent for sports: playing basketball, softball, volleyball, and cheerleading. This natural talent and outgoing energy couldn’t help but shine through. With family encouragement came the next level: professional engagements both in the US and internationally, reaching #1 on the European charts. Nashville recording and CD releases followed, and in time Jolie entertained crowds on bigger stages at the Texas State Fair, NASCAR, Chevrolet Auto Shows, CMA Music Fest, WinStar World Casino and Resort, and Choctaw Casino.

With so much background in common, it was no wonder that fate would bring these two together, sharing in a life filled with passion for music, charity, faith, and each other. That passion is just as natural and exceptional as their talent and personalities.

Jolie and Sonny now pour their energies into not only their music, but more importantly, into supporting youth and charity via Cook Children’s Health Care System, their own Music Heals Network Charity, a Wish with Wings Charity, The Ben Hogan Foundation, and many others.

Jolie and Sonny have performed together across Texas and surrounding states, with the most recent highlight coming at Casa Manana theater where Jolie performed the lead role of a country music legend in the Broadway presentation Always, Patsy Cline. Sonny, along with a full band ensemble, supported and delivered a very successful show. Jolie’s delivery of the classic Patsy Cline hits were truly wonderful, full volume and resonating in faithful tribute to Patsy. You may have also seen them at the annual Christmas in Cowtown parade. Jolie and Sonny’s first love is country music but they also perform a broader range including songs of the 70s through 2000’s as well as gospel.
